I’m predicting that grunge and alt rock will make a come back in the next few years. Why? The economy will hit the skids. Many people are going to feel a sense of jadedness. Flashiness will become associated with Prez Dump, and will just become tackiness. More people will be disgusted with greed and those that benefitted while many others suffered. Individualism might give way to communitarianism since it will make more financial sense to share a place with roommates.
I can’t tell what affect there will be of the mass displacement of musicians and artists will have, due to the rising real estate prices which occurred already. With another recession, there will probably be another housing bubble burst, causing more displacement.
