This is just the beginning. Let these images sink in. This is the kind of damage that climate change can do, even in Nebraska!

Metaphors are important not just in storytelling, but also in politics. The author works at FrameWorks Institute, a think tank in DC. It’s always good to read one of my favorite books mentioned, Metaphors We Live By. https://getpocket.com/explore/item/see-through-words

So excited to take online courses about Model Based Agents and simulation. https://www.coursera.org/learn/model-thinking/ https://www.coursera.org/learn/modeling-simulation-natural-processes/

This is interesting to me because it allows us to simulate society and natural processes with very simple models which can be validated with tests. Unexpected events can emerge from running these models and teach us things that we didn’t anticipate. I hope to use this to model existing economic systems and hopefully new economic systems will emerge.

Here is software that’s used for the class, and it shows different model simulations, including Conway’s Game of Life and many more. The scripting of the models are based on the Turtle language! 😀 https://ccl.northwestern.edu/netlogo/

I’m going to create better modeling software that uses Python for scripting models and Unity for simulation visualizations. My simulations will include sprites to simulate more complex social behavior. This could make it more entertaining to watch.
