Although it has its upsides, one of the several downsides of looking like a conservative older white male is that conservative older white males feel like I can relate to them and their frustrations about changing times, millennials, and what’s not appropriate to say anymore. Recently, I went to a comedy club, and a guy was telling me that he thinks the media is to blame for an increase in a gender identity crisis and people wanting to be transgender, and that it wasn’t like that a long time ago. I told him that those issues were probably always there, but kept in the closet and hidden from public criticism. He didn’t want to hear it.
