I used to be fascinated with the idea of space travel and going to the moon and different planets. Then I realized it’s like a hellish desert or winter in Antarctica. You can’t go outside without a special suit. You are locked in a bubble for most of the time. A meteor could punch a hole in the protective barrier and you could die within minutes.
Colonizing the red planet is a ridiculous way to help humanity.

I didn’t know about this while running out in the cold this winter, but I have noticed I tend to cough more that day and the day after. Going to do it again today.

I had an idea similar to this not too long ago. If trained with enough data, it could become more useful than a dog’s nose at sniffing things out and identifying them. Machine learning + optical chemical sensors = digital nose https://aryballe.com/about-us/

It may not feel like it, but the USA is outpacing other nations. My mom’s appointment was cancelled after the snowstorms caused disruptions in supply. Hopefully they will reschedule soon.
