I heard on radio that vaccination places need volunteers and they (may) get vaccinated too. https://www.king5.com/article/news/health/coronavirus/vaccine-site-volunteers-sometimes-get-covid-shots-early/507-aaa522d0-7ce8-48e6-b9e2-08f68d87d9c4

Medical ethicists say volunteers are a key part of the public health effort and don’t see anything wrong with giving some COVID-19 shots for their work.

Genre is not disappearing. Spoiler alert: the author doesn’t suggest what comes next. The author makes some good points, but misses the value of simplicity. Record stores and smaller sites don’t have access to powerful AI recommendation apps like Spotify to provide customized playlists for each individual. Though genre categories have roots in segregation, they’re still quite useful for simple categorization, and people appreciate not having to spend hours searching through stuff they don’t want. The crossover songs that are referenced in the article are outliers, not representative of a larger trend. There’s nothing wrong with saying a song belongs in multiple genres, or only fits within a specific niche sub-genre. Usually, if something is popular and doesn’t really fit within a specific genre, it’s grouped within the Pop genre. Sometimes, a sub-genre of music grows and grows and eventually becomes known as its own genre, such as Electronica. I wrote all this because music genre categorizations are very useful for a project that I’m working on. 😉

As record stores close and streaming algorithms dominate, the identities that music fandom supplies are in flux.

For my techie friends, this post is about choosing a toolset before creating a tv app project. Between Vue.js and React.js, I very much prefer Vue.js. It’s so much cleaner and simpler to use. I’m doing my best to avoid the old jQuery in my day job. For the tv app that I’m working on, I had a choice to use Vue Native, React Native, web app in tv (using either jQuery, Vue.js, or React.js), Java/Android, or Flutter. I chose React.js in a web app (in tv) because I have more experience with developing web apps and I felt that I would be more prepared to handle hard edge cases with React.js since it has a much larger developer base that can provide more suggestions than Vue.js developers when I run into problems. I’m not so sure about that anymore. Flutter seems interesting, but I really don’t want learn yet another programming language!
Now that my app is nearly finished and will work on Samsung and LG, I’m looking ahead to putting this app on other tv brands that will run on Android and iOS. This time, I’m going to choose Vue Native which can compile my app to run on those platforms. Though React Native has a much larger developer base, Vue.js can import React.js components.
