My guess is that UFOs are here patrolling to ensure that we don’t invent warp drive, because if we did have access to that technology, the warmongers among us would be a threat to their civilizations. They won’t engage until warp drive or the beginnings of it is demonstrated, then they’ll destroy it. I don’t know, it’s just a guess that’s as good as anyone’s.
