The world population is nearing 8 billion people and we are ruining the earth by over-consuming it’s resources. The humanist in me says we should do what we can to protect human life, but the callous part of me is taking the advice of comedians a little more seriously – Daniel Tosh, Bill Burr. I’m not suggesting the extreme parts of the jokes.

I’m suggesting we reevaluate prioritizing safety and keeping people alive at all costs. Specifically things like this: – laws requiring people to wear seatbelts and helmets (I and my passengers will continue to wear seatbelts and will wear a helmet if riding a bike.) – medical requirements that doctors try to save every patient even if the patient will live a life of suffering – mask and vaccine requirements (I’m not anti-vaccine or anti-mask.)

I think we should give people the knowledge about safety and keep them informed.

Let’s repeal safety laws and regulations that don’t involve harming other people or compromising the safety of others. Damn, now I sound like a libertarian.

I’m thinking we could help the environment and at the same time let natural selection clean up the gene pool (and voting population).
