Long ago, mammals survived as the dinosaurs died out, possibly because rodents also lived underground. Maybe that’s what it would take to survive another asteroid impact? Instead of just a concrete structure, it would have to be heavily steel enforced. Returning to the surface might require some heavy equipment to dig out from the rubble. With lots of dust in the atmosphere blocking out the light, it will be cold for a long time, so a small nuclear generator would be needed for an indoor farm.
