Can families of disease victims can sue right-wing media and politicians for putting out misinformation that leads viewers to take unnecessary risks and die?

The magnitude of this disruption all over the world is mind blowing, and it’s still growing exponentially.
If this were a terrorist organization or country attacking others, the world would be mobilizing a huge military response. If it were aliens attacking from outer space, people would be panicking in the streets and heading for the hills. If it were zombies killing and infecting others, we would be able to see them, arm ourselves, and the military and law enforcement would surely stop them.
Instead, this is a biological, replicating, invisible machine. It has no emotion. It just seeks to replicate without any intelligence. It is incredibly sneaky and different from other pathogens in how it evades our immune defenses. It doesn’t have a scary face that can frighten us into flight and hide mode. We must heed the advice of medical and scientific professionals in a way we haven’t before.
