A reason to be optimistic even though Trump is trying to sabotage the USPS: Broad obstacles to voting benefit the party that is more motivated to vote. How motivated is the Republican Party this year? I sense a lot of shame and disappointment. Not only will the Democratic Party win the presidency in a landslide, as a consequence, it’ll also win more down ballot races.
See, Trump confuses his racist fervent base with the whole Republican Party, the way he confuses the stock market with the economy. He thinks motivating his base is motivating the Republican Party as whole. It isn’t. He’s still holding onto the campaign advice that you have to motivate your base to win the election. Maybe he missed or ignored the rest of that advice that goes “… without alienating the moderates.”
