I worry sometimes if I’m unintentionally training my daughter a set of sequences like Pavlov’s dog.

I usually read a book to her before bedtime. Is that why many students get sleepy when reading books?

Today I punished her after she tried to deceive me about eating enough dinner (shrimp scampi and salad). I sent her to her room. Later, she hugged me and I made us cookies. I really hope she doesn’t learn to associate punishment with reward. OMG no!

What’s the best way to handle the situation after punishment though? A longer period of punishment cool off (no talking, stern voice)? idk
