Yeah, I just got back from a trip to my home town. I can tell you with certainty that learning these higher level skills is out of the question for many of them. Maybe this is what they mean by “elites” not caring about the common man, even if they are terribly misinformed about the political leanings of those elites.
Clarification about what I meant here: This economist and others who came from an, I guess some people would call “elite” culture, don’t understand and don’t seem to care that other parts of our society aren’t going to just enroll in a university just to compete for high tech skills – particular people who have families already.
